Were always on the look out for up to date systems and controls. We have recently been installing the NEST smart thermostat. We have also installed one of these in our own home and seen a reduction of our usage of around 25-30% on our existing system and nest states unto a 60% saving if you haven’t already had a thermostat installed, which is a massive saving you are missing out on. A very happy new year from Ribble Valley Renewables and all the best for 2015.
2015 has already brought us a reduction of the Feed in Tariff for domestic installations, reducing the payments by 10 percent on new installations. This hasn’t stopped demand for biomass installations though – We have many in the pipeline and will keep you updated as we go along.
An update on our work before christmas is a 36 Kw Verner pellet boiler supplied by Ashburn stoves, with a 1000l heat store, the old system and controls were reused – A great example of a retro fit system.
In 2015 we are also introducing a service/maintenance plans on all renewable, gas and oil appliances. Our plans offer, service only, service and parts and also service parts and breakdowns. There is more information on our RV Heating website.
Please contact us if you have any questions

Another installation complete is this farm based installation.
The plant room is located in a external farm building consisting of a 46Kw Viessmann pellet boiler and a 2000l accumulator. We then ran two circuits, one feeding the farm house and the other to the milking parlour passing through a heat exchanger giving us pre heated water in to the distillation cylinder reducing the clients electricity bills.
A bespoke wood pellet store has also been built with an Auger feed system supplying the boiler.
If you would require more information on a system like this or would like to see the installation please contact us
Hi, we’ve just completed this installation of a 200Kw Biomass Wood chip boiler installation. Our client produces wood chip and wanted to utilise his fuel to dry the wood chip to increase production.
Connected to the Schmit boiler we installed an accumulator storing all the energy needed. This then supplied a water to air heat exchanger then in to a drying unit allowing 7m3 of wood chip to be dried per day.
If you want any more info on an installation like this please contact us
